まずは、過去を語り、現在を語り、未来を語るという演習を英語でしていただきました。
もちろん、これは、動詞の過去形とか、現在形とか、未来形の練習ではないですよ。

という質問に「センスある英語」で答える演習でした。
一人一人の英語での語りに、私が即興でコメント、修正提案をしていきます。
かなり、ハードな演習となりました。
そして、102の名言を一つ一つ紐解き、なぜ、それらが名言となりうるのかという観点から、分析していきました。
名言の条件、名言の秘密を解き明かしていきました。
また、アメリカから取り寄せたちょっとしたおもしろい教材も活躍してくれました。
即興で人の心を動かす語りが英語でできることを目指した演習でした。
そして、10ヶ月分の宿題を出しました。
英語特訓講座は、11月から来年の8月まで、毎月１回あります。
この10ヶ月の間に、次の30の質問に対して、人の心を動かす語りを準備するというものです。
ひとつひとつ原稿を書いて持ってきて、合格であれば、私から「合格印」をもらうというちょっと「小学生的」な趣向を取り入れてみました。
さて、受講生のうち、誰が、一番早く、30の質問すべてに合格印をもらうでしょうか？
今から楽しみです。

これらの質問に、ただ単に、平凡で退屈な英語で答えてもダメです。
聞く人をうならせるようなすぐれた語りでなければいけません。
日本語でも英語でも、ただ話せばいいのではありません。
相手の耳と心に響き、好感と共感を勝ち取れる語りでなければいけません。
